The 701 can support the big carbs no issue on the 62t cases.
I wouldnt bother with the twins on the 61x cases sure they go better but its dimihing returns.
200 for the manifold and the carb is cheap
Yes spoony I do tune skis. I may even have a stock cdi you can try. I will not tune a ski with an epic in it. They are just inconsistent and some times they go well and next thing they are backfiring and missing etc. I'm in upper coomera just by the boat ramp. Pm me for my number if you like
I know what your talking about, I havent considered it before but I know are your working it out and how you would be adjusting it. Would just have to find a way to get the mean pressure reading as the pulses in side there would be high.
That's great from the research I did the outboards use the 3:1 pressure pulse system quite well to make alot of power.
With the 120 degree pulses stuffing the other cylinders. In theory you should be able to use the single to get some great power out of it. The Kawi doesn't use this same theory...
I agree with you that's why I always say time/area so as not to confuse
I guess each to their own op as to what causes blackening of transfers.
But if you were running the timing that retarded I would think the pipe would melt off pretty quick. I would agree you would be having charge issues. As...
I understand what your saying there but if the pressure wave was coming back fast enough to push the spent gases down the transfers after only 28-30 degrees of crankshaft rotation you would have to have such a short exhaust I'm not sure how you could even make it. I agree that we have really...
If you don't have enough blowdown then you end up stalling the transfers when they open as the pressure is greater in the cylinder than the transfer tunnel. If your getting black soot in your transfers it's a clear sign you don't have enough blowdown. These bad transfers need as much help as...
I'm a 196 degree with 128 degree transfer guy. The trick is getting the transfers to flow right and aimed in the right direction. The bad exhaust port in the 61x means you have to run higher durations to get the right blowdown time/area. A tpe with a better exhaust would have the same blowdown...
