    Help identifying what's been done.

Im not too sure about threads being smaller. Ive used the same ADA couplers on three 1993s and newer Superjets. The 93s did have a smaller housing.

Damn really. another cylinder for angry people to attack people on

An exhaust valve (that works) gets you better response with a higher exhaust port. You have to try a Superstock ported cylinder to feel the difference between race and freestyle porting.

    Pipe for FX-1 ?

Unfortunately the FX1 pump is too small to take advantage of more power. It will go faster on glass smooth water but wont pull very hard.

I guess I never thought of riding a jetski in frosty water, some people apparently do. This hobby has many different kinds of people from various backgrounds. I suppose its most economical to run it till it blows, I would pull it apart and catch up all the maintenance.

For those people? Just give it a fancy name with a big number next to it. They'll buy anything!

Looks like a 650 case with a 701 cylinder. Somebody modified the head and got a little pisser happy. I would get a newer stock head and do away with all that nonsense. The pipe is very good. You have an old modified ski that has not been maintained. It needs to be disassembled and...

    Engine tuning

Two stroke engines have the ability to run very rich, its actually necessary for best throttle response. Jetskis will often need to be four-cycling from just above idle until the pipe hits. I know this is annoying for long slow rides. You can install smaller pilot jets and lean the idle mixture...

    Modified 701 X2 prop choice

Posted pitch numbers are basically meaningless. Thats why I said start with an impeller with no more than 1.5" between blades. A lot of load can be adjusted by bending the trailing edge up and down.

Pod filters vs oem air box

People naturally fixate on carburetors. In our application, power comes almost entirely from the porting and pipe, the carb needs to be just big enough.

Then its over propped. Just raise the trailing edge .100" and try again.

    Modified 701 X2 prop choice

There were some aftermarket aluminum nozzles that started at 84mm and could be bored. Finding one may be difficult now since they have not been made in over 25 years.. A stock plastic 650 nozzle is very good. Some blade bending may be required to get your engine loaded correctly.

    Coffman Sizzler Bushing Help

Its the 650sx part, make sure to buy Kawasaki OEM, they can last a long time. The aftermarket bushings tend to last three rides. Dont buy one that is silver in the middle!

More of an Australian fire, they are more "down under".

    Where to go from here

You should be able to find peak rpm before the carbs top screw is completely closed. Usually they will start losing throttle response as peak rpm is obtained. You end up a little rich of peak when it runs best. Make sure that the pipes bottom screw is open just enough to keep the chamber from...

Back From the Dead - Yamaha FX-2

Installing the whole inlet to fit a SJ driveshaft is best. Using an FX1 shaft runs the grate up against the bulkhead.

    650sx ignition problem

OEM ignitions are very reliable. Check the stator whenever it stops running and make sure the plug gap is down to .022".

    Modified 701 X2 prop choice

Thats what I was thinking but after trying 80-83-85 nozzles the 85 pulled harder, turned 100prm higher and went the same speed as an 80.
