If the pump has been out make sure to pull the mid shaft and clean/grease the splines inside and out. Most owners are to lazy to do this and end up getting sand in their splines when they reinstall the pump. Thats the real reason there are so many stripped mid shafts out there.
There won’t be much difference in top speed. The pump load needs to be light enough for good response. You can really hurt an otherwise great running ski with too much pump load.
There is no universal load standard that corresponds to an impellers name. You have to either know exactly what you are buying or be prepared to bend some blades.
If the box was properly designed it will vavuum all the water off the bottom when you go full throttle. Aftermarket boxes are designed to make more noise with maybe a little attempt at increasing flow. Sometimes the internal pipes are too far off the bottom so the box wont completely drain. If...
The Skat 14-17 and 10-18 are almost identical. They work very well once the ski gets moving. The newer swirls and Concords prime a little faster and work better at low speeds. You may need to bend the trailing edge up if the ski doesnt respond quick enough. Boring the nozzle will make more low...
Its easy to get good low speed response and thrust with a low ported cylinder even with the stock pipe. Your nozzle will need to be bored and RPM set at 6700 or higher. A wet pipe will add 200-300 rpm and 3-4 MPH. The higher you raise the exhaust port the better the pipe works but response...
Adding hull area at the rear will make the ski plane faster and reduce porpoising. It also makes it harder to hop out of the water. The best plate or hull length depends on your size and riding style.. Short hulls with a lot of power are fun but more difficult to keep from porpoising at high speed.
You seem to be riding a Blaster, if so. The Blaster is too big and the rider position too far forward to do tricks without really big waves. Adding power doesnt help with control as much as it does with a standup, they just go faster. A fixed steer Superjet is much better but usually too long...
Its generally not a concern on a completely stock Superjet. The higher combustion temps caused by cooler air will cause pistons to run tighter in their bores than cooler water by itself although it does make the situation worse. . Opening the top screw will keep the combustion temps low and do...
A larger diameter pump would allow for a lower impeller pitch, that helps mostly at low speeds. The inlet is probably too short for a standup, they need to be longer with a large radius up front. A 1050 four stroke wont make any more torque than a 750 two stroke. Notice how similar the...
