Always cracks me up how so many people use plush padding in their ENTIRE tray except for the ONLY spots your feet go. I understand they do it in order to make little craters to aid in locking in, but I think we can all agree there's better ways to get tight holds without sacrificing padding...

Ya. It's solid stuff. Just rough the area up with some like 80 grit, clean it well, let it dry, and lop it on. You'll be good to go.

Easiest thing to use would be Marine Tex. It's a two part epoxy putty. I've used it several times for hull repairs. You can pack and shape it, then sand it smooth after it dries. Only problem in your case would be making it black afterwards but that's not a huge deal. I fixed this on my Sxr...

The stock neck has a rubber gasket already but it's a good idea to use something else that is gas friendly. I used g flex epoxy. Silicone will breakdown.
