I would like to hear some first hand opinions/experiences from guys who have run both 9/15 and 10/16 hookers in light aftermarket freestyle hulls running 700-800cc motors and 144 pumps.
I say aftermarket freestyle hulls because of the massive weight and powerband goal differences between them...
Lol I know. I said that if anything I wish it was shorter. As in if I HAD to go one way or the other with it I would go shorter. But for right now I'm happy. I think it's perfect and I have no plans on changing it. Plus I still have some throw in the adjustment before I need to resort to cutting.
I'm assuming you're talking about xmetal poles. Found this in another thread: Pivot-to-pivot straight line lengths of xmetal handle poles at their longest point. They start at 2” shorter than OEM:
Standard: (25” core) = 36½” this is adjustable from -2” to -5”
Medium: (23” core) = 34½” this is...
You should really get the shortest pole possible. The handle poles on hurricanes need to be short in order to ride them correctly. Trust me. Look at every hurricane anyone with any actual skills rides and you'll see how short the poles are.
I like my fiberglass but I definitely would've gone carbon if I could afford it. 18 lbs is huge IMHO and the strength and durability is also a huge improvement.
They're great. Flip and spin crazy easy. Also ride well for mild boat chasing. I gps'ed mine going over 50. And I only have a 760. Check out my build thread. Or follow me on Instagram @michaeljwolcott. I have a bunch of pics and videos on there.
Lake was glass last night so I decided to GPS my ski to see how fast it would go. I got it up to 50.5 mph. Not bad for a freestyle hull. I can and have out run stock superjets. It's more work but it's both doable and fun. Whoever says you can't chase boats with these is either lazy or can't ride.
