The guys doing flatwater flips need a 40LB hull. A 100LB hull is fine for every other type of riding. Your timing is about 20 years late, lots of builders have already come and gone.
I think hull building would make a great hobby. There have been several builders who were relatively successful throw in the towel. It’s a tough way to even stay in business much less make a living.
Do you want to make one hull or are you wanting to develop a hull? Computer scans are great if you are engineering. I can say that you need to get your hands on a hull so you can measure or scan it. You would be an industry leader if you scanned the bottoms of every hull and noted their center...
I was comparing a 140 to a 144 with the stock inlet. I have done a few pump swaps on various skis. I know larger inlets pull harder at low speeds. I suppose an easy bolt in swap that works better will have a lot of appeal. The inlet needs to be enlarged before a larger pump will be 100%.
The small fx1 inlet is too small to feed even a Kawasaki 140 at slow speeds. It won’t pull out of the hole as well. At least use the longer Superjet driveshaft for a 144 installation. That would require the least amount of hull cutting and provide some much needed inlet area. An extension will...
If you aren’t going to use adjustable foot holds cut slots high enough to clear your boots. The lower edge can be rounded for comfort and there’s enough gunwale left above to protect your ankle and leg. It makes the tray feel very wide and let’s you lock in when jumping. The only thing slots...
There’s a few things to consider when it comes to finding the most peak power. If your exhaust port is low it will feel like the power goes flat as the ski accelerates, especially with a low pitched impeller.. The zeel ignitions advantage is being able to advance timing a lot at low rpm for...
The mixture goes rich when the rpm overruns the pipes peak torque. This makes for great throttle response and lower full speed combustion temps. If its over loaded, throttle response will be lazy and its more difficult to find a safe full throttle mixture setting. It sounds like phrase fodder...
The 8067 and 8052 are aftermarket carbs with extended throttle shafts. I think they're the same except for color and jetting but Im not 100% sure. The 44s that came on 650 superjets have 4 pilot holes and 701s have only 3. They both work fine but would require a slightly different pilot jet or...
Full auto was the issue even with the massive muzzle brake that they were using. I had an AR10B, its recoil was very light with its factory muzzle brake. I got rid of it because of the noise. It was giving my ears frequency shifts no matter what earplugs or muffs I used.
You will need to see how quickly it jumps on the pipe and check peak rpm. The 10-16 can easily be pitched down, that’s all IMPROS did to make the 9-15.
Eugene Stoner said up front that his AR10 was too lightweight for a 308. Everyone else had to experience it through performance trials before they ended up repeating him.
PWC couch riders have a relatively easy time meeting up. The standup side is just too difficult for most to stay with for very long. They are difficult for old/fat guys to ride and difficult for young/inexperienced guys to maintain.. All I have to bring to the table is 34 years of riding and...
Make sure the carbs are perfectly clean and do initial runs with the stock pipe. It will be easier to burn a piston with the aftermarket pipe. Also get the bracket that connects the exhaust to the cylinder, It will also have the throttle cable mount built in.
Im sure all those "gurus" made race winning setups. I am 100% sure that a pro-mod or super stock ported cylinder will NOT be very snappy on pump gas. Nor will it like to sustain peak rpm for a long time on cheap gas. There is not even an out of the box impeller available that is pitched low...
