Another cause of cavitation is an airleak at your pump to pump shoe seal.

Recommend modded rev limit or better a MSD enhancer or Zeel CDI which have higher rev limits and better timing curves for performance and also to help avoid detonation at higher RPMs.

Do you have an a/m exhaust like a Factory Pipe? It is easy to hit the rev limit on any stock CDI 61x or 62t with a pipe installed.

Any pics after the fire?

Those will work, but are not the same. Oem has circular grooves for lubrication of that area and eased edges to make install easier. That said they should work fine.

Was your life vest not a USCG approved one?

That is $335. Worth of new parts for someone.

Regardless, recommend replacing the scupper flap. The rubber will go bad over time and can rip and sink your ski. I replace my XS scupper flap every season. Cheap insurance. We have them in stock.
