Quick steer and shorter than stock ride plate is my best mod for me.

It's cut back. It helps for terning quicker, getting the nose up, helped me out big time with stabs and subs. I run a stock 650 with foot holds, quick steer, milled stock head 168-175 and yes the 28mm carb. So I need all the help can get to make this slow SX come around.

I cut my 650SX ride plate one inch shorter then stock I like it.

I ride a 650sx thats how I came up with the name.

Got Pat's D cut ride plate and its not as long as I thought. I also think i have his straight bars at my house, he say's $35 for the ride plate and straight bars. If I can find the bars, the should be at my house.

I don't know about the DB yamaha starters but my kowie 650 SX and my 96 seadoo goes through one DB starter a season. The starters always turn over when you push the start/stop button but they eventually stop engaging so I don't run them anymore, I get RAGE discount starters from ebay, two...

Plenty of ideas, too rich or too lean on the high speed, or the white plastic check valve on top of the gas tank may be blown out causing the gas tank to not pressurize. therefore there is no restriction on the fuel return line from the carborator (the fuel returns to quickly to the tank)...

Well, i guess i don't know what to say about your cavitation problem. But both my SX and X2 have slop between the shaft and the prop. There both all stock with milled head though.

How much space is there between the outside of your prop and the inside of the pump? There shouldn't be much more than .030, if it is that or more than should be your problem, if i was to guess.

That's one clean 650SX
