Ferry: the Port Aransas ferry is a TxDOT ferry just like the Bolivar ferry. Now, I don't see "No Fuel Cans" listed in their rules http://www.dot.state.tx.us/services/maintenance/ferries/rules.htm but it may be that they check. You can go around through Corpus I guess. It can't be much worse than...
Several of us from Austin/Houston/SA that can't make it to Crystal on 26-28 (and even some will be at both) are going to be riding surf at Port A on Sept 12-14. Come on down and ride with us!
This link is the map...
Yeah, I won't be going this year. Last year's trip was my "last hurrah" for that type of thing for a bit. Not too long though. Anyways that surf from last year

The US-based '08 Superjet is a 701 like the 96-07 with a longer hull with built in front sponsons.
The Europe-based RR was basically an '06 with a 760, pipe, head, hull extensions, prop and IIRC front sponsons.
Thanks, smoofers! I prefer to look fast than actually go fast...
Techzan, you and smoofers (and onlyFX1 for that matter) let me know when you go out to Hudson Bend.
That was me (Christian). NP. I was glad to see people using them.
I had tons of fun. It was great meeting some new people too. Eugene, thanks for letting me ride your blaster and thanks too to Steve. That's a nice SJ you've got.
steve0we, PM your email address...

Does Swedes give your rental-house-money back if a hurricane ruins your weekend?
Devil's Cove is nothing like Mudd Cove. Mudd Cove is small, is part of a park and has camping. Devil's Cove is huge, is all no-wake and no public shoreline to speak of. Riding there really means riding the big part of the lake in front of Devil's Cove where are all boats are going in and out of...
Here's a map.
It's ten's bucks per car for a day-pass. Dunno who's camping, but its probably twice that for overnight.
Look for signs in the park to Mudd Cove/Tournament Point. Put up right at the lat/lon I used for the map.
