Im gonna agree with that theory. That plate has skags on the bottom and is real tricky to break loose. I have to say that combo plate/grate is one of the best I tried!

I have nothing bad to say about that grate either, i always found that ski to handle/hookup very well. The west coast plate and grate work very well on that boat. Mike go for a nice hard ride, get the boat nice and wet, slap it around then have a smoke and call it a day!

My thoughts are that your VIN tags are not for your ski. You could either have ViN #'s for a wave runner/jammer they were both around in 1989. Like I said thats what Im thinking and there could be many different reasons why your numbers are not correct. Either way enjoy your "new to you ski"...

That always happens to me too! I just keep spinning the drive shaft and try again, it will eventually fall into place! You are not doing anything wrong so just keep trying! BTW your ski looks great in that sig pic, keep up the good work!

Pretty sure you need an American address to buy a SJ. You would need an American Buddy to put it in his name and you could then buy it from him and bring it to Canada. Im sure any dealer close to any Canadian border would have one/some to sell!

Believe me when I say have tuned a few carbs and Im familiar with how they work! The jetting you listed is way too fat, I know cause I tried it! All I was looking for is a starting point and I will not be paying someone for something I can easily do myself.

Im pretty sure it has to come out Dude, you just have to take the two nuts off and pull it up high enough to do your thing. Its really not hard and will make things a whole lots easier.
