Flipping couches for fun and profit

The customer brought me an OEM carb off of a 97 GTI last night , this morning I went through it , cleaned it and put it back together , it was very clean inside and the only thing that took some work to get going was the accell pump and I put in a new main diaphragm , it is now ready to water...

The Fakuni thread (Fake Mikuni carb ) with pics

You right the bright ones are not working at the carb factories . The customer brought me an OEM carb last night, I ran through it this morning and it was in really good shape , I replaced a few diaphragms in it , that's it , it is back on the ski ready to water test .

    the trivial complaints thread

You are in Tuscaloosa , you should have plenty of good options , here not so much , but I get your point about them selling beer and drinks , if I want that we go to Old Mexico and get margaritas , beer , drinks and Mexican food actually go together . Funny side note ,Greenville has three...

Cracker Barrell : Need I say more , ok I will though , everyone knows what went down there right, well today it comes out that the biscuits are no longer made fresh, they are day old frozen biscuits and the meatloaf has been microwaved. Now to most people this probably won't matter , to me...

The Fakuni thread (Fake Mikuni carb ) with pics

I tried driving it out from the back side with a punch and hammer , which I have had to do on some other carbs over the years , I also tried to thread the seat with a 6mm tap and pull it our with a sleeve a large fender washer and a bolt , no dice on either method so far , that's why I said...

How to add antifreeze to crankcase?

Fogging oil is never overkill, it's just good common sense , what doesn't make any sense at all is not winterizing your ski , did you forget how much money you have tied up in your ski , the chemicals to winterize a ski cost maybe $30.00 - $40.00 for everything and will winterize your ski for...

Ok I decided to check the popoff before I attempt anything else here, no dice it would not hold any pressure at all , I tried to replace just the needle ,I made sure it was sprayed with WD40 , nothing, I checked and it is leaking where the seat is put into the carb. Apparently it is pressed...

How to add antifreeze to crankcase?

Not that familiar with those but I do know that engine also was adapted from a snowmobile engine . I will say this though any motor that is put in at a slant , Seadoo 787's , 951's , Yamaha 800's , Kawasaki Ultra two smokers, all of those hold water in the cylinders and if you don't put...

How to add antifreeze to crankcase?

Read my first response , there is no water in the crankcase , if there is you have serious issues . The only reason the first Seadoo and Polaris Fugi engines had water in the crankcases is because they were adapted from snowmobile engines which have radiators and they do circulate water...

How to add antifreeze to crankcase?

Wait what ? The cylinders drain back out through the line from the pump that the water came in on , as to exactly what you are asking here I have no idea . If you take a line loose at the top of the head and pour antifreeze into the fitting on the head the antifreeze will run out on the ground...

How to add antifreeze to crankcase?

Probably not but for the amount of time it will actually take to do it , I would just to be sure . One other thing we would have to know what the bypass line is connected to to tell you where the antifreeze ended up at .

How to add antifreeze to crankcase?

Yamaha's engines are self draining , which means they don't hold water in the cylinders , no skis out there have water in the crankcases now, the last to do so were older Polaris skis with Fugi engines and Seadoos with the yellow 587 motor , that's all the way back in 1991 for Seadoo and I...

    88 650sx troubleshooting

Before you do all that come out on the low speed screw adjuster about a turn , idle it back up with the idle adjustment and see how that works for you , sometimes you have to fine tune that a bit as each ski reacts differently , I will say it works wonders on Yamaha's and they will usually...

The Fakuni thread (Fake Mikuni carb ) with pics

Since I have nothing better in the world to do lol I am probably going to see if I can actually make this carb work , it won't be going out the door on this customers machine though , I won't take that chance ,I will put it on one of my skis down the road and take an OEM carb with me so I can...

Flipping couches for fun and profit

Just for the Halibut I timed myself to see how long it would actually take me to remove this Fakuni carb , 9 minutes from start to holding the carb in my hand , that is getting tools out of the truck and everything so yeah , that old man's still got it. There is a reason my nickname is Speed...
