Does the stock exhaust on a blaster 2 760 have to come off to replace the starter? Before I take on this pig of a job I'd like to know, engine is crusty and I may pass on it if the exhaust has to come off the cylinder..

You definitely don't want consistent pressure on the cable so just be sure at 0 it has a bit of slack.

Nothing is going to keep the nozzle down. When you produce thrust it's going to naturally come up to 0 deg

I solder everything, the flux, mini torch and heat shrink never get put up.

For sure, keep them greased up as with everything electric in salt. Not too much in the water proof ones though, I've seen the plugs get damaged from people filling them with grease and shoving them together.

I cheat and use vise grips to crimp Deutsch connectors. It fits in the teeth perfect and only a trained eye would know. And I solder them too.

I also use PST, on nearly everything...

I have also used the oem style bullet connectors but my favorite is the deutsch.

Test fit the pump with with the shoe before you glue. Other than that pick your favorite sealant and glue it in place. I use thickened epoxy.
