What is the normal way to seal the steering cable? Maybe I will just save myself the hassle and buy a new RN cable as I am planning on building this “donor” ski for the lady anyways.

On my 92 sn parts donor there is some type of sealant on the engine bay side where the steering cable comes through the firewall, almost like a rubbery foamy type material. Is this stock or did the previous owner possibly do this?

Thanks for the info, I am actually swapping from a 92 SN to a built freestyle/surf 95 SN boat, not round nose. The waterbox I believe is stock Fiberglass in the 92. I plan on adding a hooker 9/15, ada girdled head, bpipe, and possibly 46mm carb I have and my wallet.
