Thanks for all the advice guys , I think I will stay away from the wrecked superjet ,
save up my pennies and lash out on a new ada head and if I can run to it , a b pipe. Will I have a problem with the revs bouncing off the limiter with either of these mods , and how would I go about sorting...
Thanks for the advice. I have the ski now for a couple of years and I love it. I looked up "FX1 ski" on facebook and came across this dude in a river , pulling backflips and barrel rolls on his fx1 like it was a piece of cake. Where do I begin to try that out , it looks nuts.. Check it out...
At the moment the engine is stock apart from a 46mm carb , boyesen duel stage power reeds and a protect exhaust. Other mods include Blowsion 144mm jet pump , 13/18 skat trak impeller , pump tilt kit , Tubbie Destroyer sponsons , a pair of rule bilge pumps and a few other minor mods. I hope to...
If I go ahead , I will more than lightly try to buy the complete ski , that should sort out any of the extra parts needed to make it work. Would a protect exhaust for a fx1 work with the superjet engine.?
A friend has a superjet with a badly damaged hull for sale. Wondering if any of you guys have fitted a superjet engine with matching twin carbs to your fx1. Is it a simple job to swop them out , or is there more to it than that , will it make much of a difference in performance over the standard...
Hey fx1 buddys , I installed a set of Boyesen duel stage power reeds to my fx1. (Standard engine apart from a pro tec exhaust.) Started it up on the trailer with the hose running , it ran fine but black oily/sooty smoke started to shoot out as I revved her up.... Is this anything to worry about...
Hey all you guys running 46mm mikuni carbs... Have you all paired them with the wetjet craze intake manifold , or have any of you drilled out the carb bolt holes and ran with the bigger carb on the original manifold , and if so how does it work. I have located a 46mm carb but am having...
I had a go at removing it , got the carb off & unbolted the top of the intake manifold. I could see the top of the reeds tru the top of the intake , but didn`t know how to remove bottom section of manifold , couldn`t find any more nuts/bolts to remove , so I gave up... Whats the secret.?
I had a new jet jet kraze when they were in production back in the day for a couple of years , and it never missed a beat. I think it had the same engine as the fx1 , just with the bigger carb. Did you have to remove the engine to fit carb and intake , or can it be done with it still in the ski.?
Wondering if most of you fx1 riders are sticking with the factory standard mikuni 44mm carb , or have you ditched it for something superior, maybe twin carbs , or is the original still the best. ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Ok , but that throws up a few questions. Are they suggesting that the carb is rotated 90 deg. clockwise or anticlockwise. Is there a mounting kit available for same , as throttle & choke cables will have to be re located , air intake will be lower & on the side of the carb. (water intake...
Hey guys , my ski has developed intermittent power fade when wave jumping or pushing it hard in to the turns etc. It has the standard carb & engine setup. I fitted new plugs , stripped & cleaned the carb + fitted a carb rebuild kit , but this did not make any notable improvement. It only...
