build a wooden frame much like a giant C clamp and stretch a piece of stainless steel welding wire across the opening. Connect a battery charger to each end of the wire and you have a "hot-wire". Try a setting between 2 and 10 amps. As long as the wire doesn't turn red hot, you should be good.
Dag, I'm assuming that the carbon is more of an insulating material that will hold the heat in. The aluminum pipe will get hot and let the heat out much like a heat sink. With that philosophy, why aren't we using header wrap on our aluminum chambers?????
Hey Dalton, I just stumbled across your build thread here. Thanks for the kind words. Half of the fun of building your own creations is sharing your tricks with others. The most impressive part of your build was the fact that you hadn't even started the top deck mold two weeks before the dells...
I don't think you can remove enough of the chin pad and still retain the mounting tabs. I ended up making my own chin pad by doing an overlay of the glass part of the pole and then shaping that to resemble a stock pad, but with clearance for all steering components. I turfed and bolted it...
What if you were able to auger down really deep in a few spots and install aerators at the bottoms of those cavities? Could that work like a geothermal system to keep your pond warmer in the cooler season? Would be worth it if your ride season would be extended a couple months.
Last year at the Erie ride, there was an older guy that had a bunch of crazy body mods on a couple x2's. He has an electric trim that he could program for whatever degree trim he wanted and it reacted really fast. Maybe some of the NY Erie area guys will chime in with more info.
I always do the tray first tight to the gunwales. Then the seam isn't as noticeable as you look into the tray. I always cut the gunwale turf a hair long and compress it into the tray turf as well.

I used a stainless steel rear brake cable for a tandem bicycle and cut it to fit. All over amazon for a few bucks, but you have to be the creative type.
The fx1 top piece is indeed shorter. If you try to use one with an older sj steering cable, you will have to get creative mounting the cable stop and turn plate ball connector.
Keep your phone in a dry pouch, flush mount this into your chinpad, and you're set. http://www.hmdxaudio.com/jam-collection/jam-splash-shower-speaker.html If you did create a full 12v powered system, I think this BT volume control would be sweet...
Haha Swap! Not talking about an upside-down hood scoop at all. Maybe along the lines of a q*bert type snorkel if his nose was more of a diamond cutter shape.
I had another idea along the same line, but haven't built anything to try out yet. Instead of extending the intake forward, extend it down at a slight forward angle. This could be done in the actual hull design or by making an intake grate that would completely seal to the hull. The extension...
When I would take the gas cap off, no pressure would release. Also If i blew into it to pressurize the tank it wouldn't hold long. I sprayed soapy water to find the leak and it was coming back out of the check valve. Replaced and that issue is gone. Still need to check my internal filters...
Hey guys, here's one thing to take in consideration with led lighting. Sure the actual led's have thousands of hours of life in them, but their weakness is the connection to the circuit board. If water gets in a corrodes the solder joints or leads of the diodes, they can still fail. With a...
Make sure that your check valve for the gas tank is good. I'm running a stock wb2 motor in my standup and was battling a bad check valve for a bit. I also opened the low speed screws 2 turns out for my application. I plan to rejet, but its running good now
It seals really well and being less than an inch tall, it can't catch enough water to even shift it. I only installed an auto bilge, and since it breathes through the hand pole, it only gets water in when the pole is submerged. No versaplugs or scupper. Haven't had any issues so far.

Right now the plan is to come to Daytona in january. Hoping to have a shorter, full carbon ski as well. Should probably pack a few long ride plates for the salty water.
