It's more for trying something new. I've had a fair share of both and I'd like to try a 760 for the low end grunt over an 800. Just looking to see if anyone has used the stock 760 exhaust. It's common enough to use the stock 701 exhaust on a 760 in a superjet but it would appear to be a chocking...
I tried searching but came up short on any threads outlining the conversion. I see that Rhass makes a bolt-in conversion mount setup, but I am specifically interested in using the OEM 760 sitdown exhaust in the sxr hull.
Also, are there any alternatives to using the Rhass engine mounts? I'm...
Looking to start a winter project, curious about throwing a 701/760 in one of my old sxr800 hulls. Ideally I would like to run the big oem Yamaha 760 sitdown exhaust and plumb it into a rear waterbox setup, then mount the ebox up front on a tank bracket made for a sxr1100 conversion.
Has anyone...
Sell one and get an 08+ and setup for lites class. regardless of what you do to your older ones they will never be true competitive skis because 1) there aren’t any classes for modified 2 strokes anymore (at wf anyways, probably could find some class to enter at a local race) except for lites...
Personally, I would LOVE to see Kawi answer back with a smaller SXR hull ( around the same size as the SJ4) using the stx12f engine (1200cc four stroke) instead of the 1500. That would turn up the competition and level the playing field a bit more.
Will it happen? You can almost guarantee it...
I would think that Yamaha would outfit the production models with a graphics kit to take up some of the plain white space all over that thing. It could look pretty aggressive with the right color scheme and kit design. Better yet, if they made it available in multiple colors and/or graphics designs
Correction: you see *enthusiasts* spending ludacris amounts of money on custom hulls and stuff.
Enthusiasts make up just a tiny percentage of actual sales, so it would be foolish for a large corporation to tailor their pricing to just what a batch of enthusiasts will spend on something. The...
At the end of the day this ski needs to compete with the Sxr1500 in terms of performance AND price point seeing that most of their sales come from your average rec rider, not racers or enthusiasts. I can’t imagine Yamaha would price it thousands of dollars more than the Sxr. They would be...
Some info released today mentioned that it is 132 pounds lighter than the competitor ski (aka the Kawi sxr1500 which is 550lbs dry weight) so that would put it right around 420lbs dry. I think that’s an awesome number to hit considering an sxr1100 is right around 440. The leak also mentioned it...
AWSA race coming to Hazelton/Twin Falls, Idaho on August 28-30 2020. Possibly the only west coast racing this year due to current events, don't miss it!
These are 2021 models, not 2020 models, so the timing makes sense. The models will just probably be hitting dealers by the end of fall, ready for sales through the winter and into next year.
Likewise, I believe I had 2 issues at once. The battery is done for and the stator was not charging.
I replaced the non-working stator with a backup that passed both static (ohms test) and dynamic (cranking voltage and voltage while running) tests and replaced the bad battery. The superjet...
I would suggest verifying where the RPM limiter is set on the MSD and verifying your stator timing before anything else. Don't advance the stator without knowing what is actually going on.
