Check ALL fuel line connections. Check all fuel lines for tears, etc... Tighten down the cylinder to cases, Tighten down the intake manifold to the cases and the carbs to the manifold. Restart and test. Look for any oil coming out at the base gasket.

Those stock 701s have more power than the pre 2008s. Everyone thinks 96-07 RN superjets are fast, but that is because they ALL have bpipes, enhancers, intake grates, aftermarket impellers, Compression, porting.

I wouldn't go with the -4. That standard length is a perfect surf hull. Best riding hull I've been on so far.
Still need to ride a Matrix and a new Rickter. ....but as of now, nothing comes close.
