I recently tried this duplicolor anodized paint. It worked really well on faded anodized aluminum parts. Looks just like it's anodized. Of course it's paint so it won't hold up like real anodizing but I can always spray it again...

When I first bought my fx1 it would kill batteries. I swapped out the stator plate and never had another problem. My theory was someone jump started it with a car and damaged the charging coils.
If you can't find a source you could use a castle nut to replace the missing nut and check with jetmaniac to see if he has the bearing.

Compression check and the pistons will start to get noisy. I wouldn't worry about it. The stock top end on my fx-1 lasted 24 years before I rebuilt. By then it needed a new crank as well. Do a compression test and go ride.
Project farm recently posted a damaged thread repair video. I personally have always used helicoils because they are not expensive and I have never had one fail.
