Back From the Dead - Yamaha FX-2

Excellent points! Thank you for the reply. I ride exclusively in fresh water, so I think I'd be fine. I could always paint the aluminum before I reglass my FX1 tray and put new foam in there. I was also wondering about the RN Superjet exhaust tube. It appears to be aluminum, but I wasn't sure.

Back From the Dead - Yamaha FX-2

Is there any big difference if you're using an aluminum tube or a 316 stainless tube (besides price) for the rear exhaust tube? I ended up getting the correct 2-3/8" diameter aluminum exhaust tube (that'll fit the 2-3/8" RN Superjet exhaust hose) for my FX1 that I'm upgrading the exhaust system...

    Difference in SJ midshaft housings?

Thanks for the reply. You're probably right about the grease fitting. Or maybe they simply machined in another snap ring groove(s) on the 1995 and newer housings to fit a wider variety of models. It was driving me crazy trying to find the differences between the two, because they looked...

    Difference in SJ midshaft housings?

I know the 1990-1993 SJ midshaft housings are different, but does anyone know what the difference in midshaft housings might be between the 1994 Superjet/FX1 midshaft bearing housing unit and the 1995 and up Superjet (and 1995 only FX1) midshaft bearing housing unit? The Yamaha part number for...

What's your view look like today?

You should just stay down there for the month until Daytona. You're not missing much up here in Buffalo besides more snow that'll be coming in a few days.

Blaster My tow rig for my blaster

Yes, those small block Mopars are bulletproof, right along with their "Leaning Tower of Power", the slant 6. I bet that 408 moves the Charger along nicely. It is a 4 speed or a 727? The family that my Dad bought his Roadrunner from actually towed a big camping trailer with it, so I'd imagine...

Blaster My tow rig for my blaster

Oh yea, it is a '68.......I looked closer at the picture and noticed the little round side market lights. That 408 stroker is based off the 360, correct? A lot of guys with the Dakota 5.9 R/T trucks do that 408 stroker and they're great engines.

    FX1 Aftermarket exhaust Hose

While we're on the subject of waterboxes, does the JM waterbox fit well in the FX1 hull with a B pipe and a stock FX1 fuel tank? Also, is there a big noticeable power advantage in upgrading the FX1 exhaust tubing from the stock 2" FX1 diameter to 2-3/8"?

BEST IMPELLER for a 1995 Yamaha FX-1 61x 701 engine with a single SBN44 carb with the original Factory Pipe made for the FX-1 ?

Not to threadjack, but if any of you guys are running the FX1 with a 140mm Kawi pump (and a mild/moderately built 701), what would be the best prop to use, a stock SXR800 with thinned blades and set back 5 or 6mm or a Skat C75 9/17 swirl?

Detailed 'Blaster 1100 Build (how Yamaha could have done it)

Hi Derek, I'm still with us and so is the Blaster 1100. It hasn't skipped a beat ever since I've built it. Unfortunately here in the Buffalo, NY area, our season is done. It'll be back out on the lake this upcoming season though. I can help you with any questions you might have on your build.
