yep. Sounds like you're on the right track. Adjust it so it starts flowing past idle. If you have a pisser tee'd in nearby you might need to restrict the pisser to get the FCV to open.

I'd like to emphasize on how much more you'll be spending than you realize even with a donor ski. Unless the funds you're waiting on are significantly more than the price of the hull. Otherwise start shopping for everything 800750 mentioned. pipe, waterbox, pole, steering, bars/grips, cables...

You'll need a 62T intake for the 38s. You can use the same reeds on either intake. 100-150 would be a great price for dual 38s on an intake. I'll take a set too! Keep in mind when buying old carbs, it may cost you another $150 for MIKUNI kits and needles/seats. Don't use anything but MIKUNI parts.

I installed an Amazon stubby on my F150. I didn't notice change in performance one way or the other.

New TPE 964 isn’t too far off budget if you can find a decent bottom end doner. Maybe @Jr. can give you some more information
