Pimp My Superjet - MSRP Build

Ski has been solid as a rock all summer! 15 or more jugs of gas through it and still lovin it. Got to ride an 08+ hull last night and while that was possibly an interest of mine (transferring the driveline over), after riding it, it's just too race-style feeling and not as flickable in my...

What kind of pipe is this

Yea another step I forgot to mention is that after the header is on the engine outside the ski, place the engine in the ski then slide it forward to put the chamber. This will make your life much easier than trying to do it all while the engine is bolted down! Same is true in reverse.

What kind of pipe is this

Remove expansion chamber from header, then remove header and engine assembly and work on it outside the ski. Easiest way even if it doesn't seem like it up front!

What kind of pipe is this

Riva Freeride Dry Pipe - its a great pipe as long as you have the mounts and pipe to head seal in place!

    DISCONTINUING THE SUPERJET????

Just in case anyone else has tried it - the dealer I requested a test ride from called back and basically said "sorry we can't offer that, I think it's a glitch on yamaha's website" because they don't have a local lake to give the test ride and probably will only receive a handful of superjets...

First picture of 2021 Waverunner including Superjet

I bet it's because typically you grab the gunwales to board (or handlebar) and with this new model they're wider and not padded... so maybe a work around? Personally that just seems like another place to jamb your feet or knee on hard fiberglass - no thanks.

    DISCONTINUING THE SUPERJET????

If anyone is interested - Yamaha's website seems to be saying dealer's will permit a test drive... on a standup... haven't seen that in a few decades lol. I was out last week at my local lake and someone wanted to try my SJ - they let me ride their SXR1500 in return. It was interesting -...

    Superjet Dry pipe no EWI

@Storbeck Posts #11 and #12 reference it - plus the PFP pipe water diagram (below) referenced in post #9 (but not shown) has the water routed how I'm inquiring. EWCI to the stinger only seemed weird - but these pipes (factory dry) use the ewci for manifold injection so I've been interested in...

    Superjet Dry pipe no EWI

I run a needle valve for adjusting flow currently to the stinger on this pipe. Love it - has been flawless and I will occasionally still check waterbox and exhaust tube temps to make sure flow is as expected. I'm going to try this non-ewi mod - Now that I've ridden my dry pipe quite a bit I do...

    62t 61x reverse engineering/billet machining

Waterduck customs makes a few clamshell headers like you are thinking about possibly. On the feasibility of adapting the cast Factory header design to a clam shell design? I don't know on that one - definitely require some DFM analysis. They bolt their shells together as well - so welding may...

Want to Buy Water injection system - GOOD to GREAT condition

I am looking for a water injection system - microtouch, jetworks and MSD if it's immaculate. Let me know what you have - I'll offer $150 shipped and only interested if it's in good condition - if you feel it's worth more let me know why. Thanks!

    62t 61x reverse engineering/billet machining

I would imagine that the material thickness (walls) you see being epoxied are also somewhat related to the cooling rate of the casting after the pour - i.e. trying to achieve a relatively uniform cooling rate so the material doesn't crack and so that material crystal formation is what the...

Damn - didn't know they were that precise. Carry on haha - just make sure you scan something worth copying!

The pump may be easier to just measure and draft vs scan and clean up the point cloud. I haven't used the modern scanning tools that you have available - what are you seeing for accuracy and resolution? Awesome work btw!

Pimp My Superjet - MSRP Build

Yea I'm kinda excited to try water injection once I find a good used setup - most of the ones I've found are pretty knackered. Glad I went with this pipe because the hit of power up in the mid is exhilarating. I'll probably look into that Zeel setup this winter as well when I have some downtime.

Pimp My Superjet - MSRP Build

Got about 1.5 tanks through it now. Might play around with the pop-off pressure (go down from 115g to 95g spring) but I'm going to wait until I'm though this tank of 32:1 and go to the regular mixture. Pull from 1/4 to 1/2+ throttle is very strong. Pull from 1/8th-ish to 1/4 throttle...
