I had the ones that sealed in your ear pretty well. Kept most of the water out. But yeah, still had a bit of muffling every now and then.

I bought one of the iPod water proof cases for the older generations that still had the clickwheel. Worked fairly well and didn't ever leak. Strapped it onto my arm and routed the headphones through my wet suit and to my helmet. I wanna say the brand is h2o audio.

All great sellers. Fast communication. Kept me in the loop on shipping. Got products just as described. No complaints here!

I'm hoping it'll work. My old 550 with no reinforcements lasted pretty long through the beatings. Worst that can happen is a few broken parts. Fiberglass is fixable though :bigok:
This exactly. Having never ridden an AM hull, I think it's gonna be a learning curve either way. Lets hope the gen3 will turn out like I hope. If it doesn't, I can just sell and switch like you said.
Well, chasing boats isn't too much of a concern. Where I ride they stay in one part of the creek so I just hang out and wait.
My main concern now is the surf riding aspect. Galveston doesn't get big surf usually, but the few times it does I wonder how the bob will handle
I agree. For now though, I bit the bullet and ordered a fiberglass gen3. I figure for my budget it's fitting, and if I don't like it I can always switch to a different hull later on. With my work schedule, there just wasn't gonna be any testing of skis for me considering no one near by has any...
Completely. I guess in the end there's no telling if it'll be what you want without testing it out. Might have to see if someone in the Texas area has one or any of the others
It's seeming that way. With my two skis being stock length, I don't get the "flippability". If they're nimble and wide, I don't think I'll mind it. My skis just lost some of their maneuverability it seemed after tubbies were installed
I had seen those. I'm not sure if that would work, might be too small lol. I guess I can't say much as far as tubbies considering I've only ever rode my two. This may come down to biting the bullet and ordering a ski. Not having ridden one, I don't think I will have much of a preference. Just...
Personally, after having tubbies on both my stand ups I almost would rather not have too much width. I guess I somewhat feel at home on something more unstable than something overly stable. I had a superjet for a while and hated it. It felt like a couch compared to what I normally rode. Seven...
I'd love to try any of these skis out. Problem is finding someone willing to let me in the area. I haven't looked into the Rok much, so I'll have to see about those as well. All I know is I'd like to get something that doesn't require a huge motor to be able to toss around.
Okay, that wouldn't be too important. Most of the time I just cruise about looking for boat wakes on the lake. Our fx is unstable at high speed so I don't do too many fast runs anywho. These type of hulls tend to ride nose high also it seems, so I wasn't expecting much speed as much as tricks...
Hey guys,
New account, not new to the X though. I'm considering ordering a gen3 fiberglass bob hull. I wanted some first hand accounts/opinions. I'd be mainly using on flat water with occasional surf when the waves are good in Galveston.
Main question is, would this be a good all around ski...
