Disclosure: I am not a mod (as of October 2013), but I used to play one on this one website.
The above quote is the very thing that gets very very VERY old very quickly. Whenever pretty much anything happens someone disagrees with, it'll be blamed on mods/admins for 'protecting X' or...
Really? Not quite the conclusion I got.
In any event, I have always found it to be 100% adequate to heat up the epoxy in small batches and in favorable geometry. (i.e., no 12 oz red cups, that poop will cook itself)
I've used a microwave, heat guns, space heaters, etc. It's nice that...
It's a video game comissioned by Cabela's. I hope you aren't expecting too much, because it's almost certainly garbage.
It only has one blog/mag review up on metacritic, but it's sitting at 60% by that blog/mag that is known for over-scoring everything by quite a bit.
I bought it in Portland, Oregon because when I was buying, the LBS didn't have the bike in stock and quoted me a 10-week lead time. So I got it elsewhere, and about $474 cheaper as well.
So to answer your question, I didn't take it back to Portland because I didn't feel like driving 200 miles...
Update. The LBS called me on Tuesday to let me know the bike was done. Giant elected to replace the frame. While I am grateful that the warranty worked, I did get a bit frustrated with the shop.
They assured me that there'd be no cost to me. Yet, when I picked up the bike, they tried charging...
You're talking about Cloverfield. While I didn't care for it either, the movie did well at the box office ($170M earned vs $25M budget) and it was well received by critics. 6.5/10 on Metacritic and 76% on RottenTomatoes.
That said, it sucked.
There was no crash here, not even a pothole. 2000 miles is a lot in two months, but that was an easy 2000. Not even a pothole hit. Didn't have to true a wheel once, which is my own measure. That bike got babied. Cleaned - including chain and whole drivetrain - at least once a week and...
Giant is replacing the frame and as I understand it, paying for the labor to swap. Should have it back in two weeks, which is the biggest pain in the ass about all this.
Re: carbon frames in general. I don't quite understand the fear or 'hell no' attitude about them. It's not like they...
The cracks are in two different spots, which seems to indicate more than just flexy paint. However, a couple things on that: Giant clearly states that ANY crack at all is a concern and to stop riding immediately. And the paint is warrantied for a year, as well.
One of the service techs that...
In case you can't see the seat stay crack: look at the very end of the blue line, then draw a line perpendicularly across the red line. That's the crack.
Nobody here likes to read that, I am sure. I'll alleviate your concerns right now - it's not a $7k jetski hull.
It's a bicycle, quite a bit less than $7k.
Pic of said bike:
See those seat stays? Pretty skinny, eh? The whole thing weighs 21 lbs with the heavy leather saddle.
I bought it...
What's 'early'?
I used to get to the office before 7 a.m. even with the bike. But now it is cold and dark in the mornings and three week nights I teach late at night so I just go in late most of the time now. I am in a rare situation that allows this level of commuting. Close enough to work, a...
It's mostly in my commute. 9 months of the year I log about 40 miles/day. I do longer weekend rides, too, but they don't make up the majority of my riding. Commuting 52 weeks a year racks up miles.
That's no photoshop.
I wouldn't mind trying a fatbike. I keep trying to justify one (as if I had the money) but it just doesn't work out. I have only 940 miles on my 2013 Rockhopper since I bought it eighteen months ago. During that same time, I have put 8,350 on one road bike and 2,000 on...
I watched Interstellar opening night. I'll watch it again in the theatre, too. I thought it was a fantastic movie. It had a great story that was constrained by the running time. The movie could have been a three-parter without problems. It is a movie that I will be able to watch again. I...
