Depends how cold you get and if any of your cooling system in blocked/not draining properly. Ive seen customers block crack on waverunners, and we don't get crazy cold around here/usually, I pump all customers skis full of rv antifreeze to be safe.

Usually broke reed doesn't idle smooth and it spits fuel backwards out the carb. If reeds are good, may have had something come loose/fail inside the carb.

usually the heel lock is glue directly to the wedge, I would at least grind the turf smooth to get the best adhesion

Ya, sounds like it, You should be at a 11/17 hooker with that setup. You can send your 9/15 hooker off to impros and have repitched. Or if your going 148 now, just buy a 8/15 skat-trak cutback 5mm 148 magnum impeller.

Lacking bottom, yet your running way too small of prop, the engine should just be spinning out with that tiny of a prop, unless your engine is very poorly tuned. RRP will make more bottom end then PFP. On that small of a engine w/ PFP, itll need 30 degrees timing down low, or it will be a dog...

Tighten pole bolt, if your running a spring, shouldn't have to get it crazy tight.

Because the flow guard is night and day better then that old thrust setup. It's the difference from being able to do 180 vs 360 flat spins, speeds up rotation big time.
