I poached a 550 driveshaft/carrier and pump from my friends honey hole so no driveshaft brace required. The 550 impeller just arrived from Impros that was repitched to a straight 19 degree.

The dealer is an idiot. If it is a stock head and an OEM gasket there is no reason to replace them, they do not wear out or go bad. If it is running fine the gasket is fine, there are plenty of these running around still with the same gaskets they left the factory with 30 years ago.

That flow number seems really high. I don't design pumps but I spec irrigation pumps all day and 5,400 gpm is really big. In our industry 5,400 gpm @ 35 psi would take a big 13" diameter impeller with a 10" discharge centrifugal pump with a 150 HP engine.

You can get the complete start/stop harness with the switches for about $80 online. EW2-68311-01-00 It doesn't include the housing or the red and green buttons but is all the electrical parts. I keep one in my "Save a Weekend" parts tackle box.

That OEM Yamaha line is very thick, probably why it lasts 20+ years. You should be good to go for another 20. I did the same thing on my WB2 and just bought the OEM line.

1184 for almost 30 years with no issues and I pressure test every engine. Cases should be spotless and final wipe down with brake cleaner. Thin coat of 1184 on both case halves, and by thin you should still se some of the machining. Don't worry about it drying out as it is semi-drying anyways...
