    SBN 44's: All the same?

You're spot on—the four holes are actually called progression ports, and they help the carb transition smoothly from idle to the high-speed jet. The early models had four instead of three, mainly due to emissions regs, but the four-hole versions actually give better throttle response. It’s not...

Wax racing exhaust manifold on a 760

Yeah, I’ve fitted them before. I’ve also tried blending it out to match the gasket—it’s easy to do. But honestly, I didn’t see any noticeable gains on the tach or in performance. If it gives you peace of mind, go for it, but the actual performance improvement is minimal at best.

    Other New pos krash ski

I tuned a 997 engine for a mate a while back. I don’t really tune other people’s skis anymore—I’m too busy, and to be honest, I just can’t be bothered. We installed a Zeeltronic ignition but kept the stock carbs, and surprisingly, it ran really well. I told him I could make it go, but I...

    Updated porting temp plate

Here’s an engine I’m building for the upcoming race. Running 196° exhaust timing, 70% bore width exhaust, and 130° transfers, aiming for a smooth powerband that pulls strong without being too aggressive. Expecting it to rev in the 7400-7600 range, which should be just right. It’s more of a...

Updated Porting Template – Now with Transfer Heights! We've updated the porting template to now include transfer heights when you print it out, making the process even easier. Will this instantly turn your engine into a full race ski? No, that’s not the goal of this template. But if you're...

    Port Timing & Duration Specifications

I would have to go back through the article i wrote to say how high but 195 would seem about right. I cant remember how high it revved but it didn't mind it that's for sure. I have a friend who is running the stock 760 exhaust on his free ride ski and it works really well

    Port Timing & Duration Specifications

The 760 exhaust is actually quite effective. Riva faced significant challenges in developing a better exhaust for the 760, and while they did produce an alternative, it doesn’t offer much improvement over the stock system. On a separate note, when it comes to triple-cylinder engines, Yamaha’s...
