Pretty much you disassemble the engine down to the bare cases , that way you can spin the bearings and make sure they are all good, put in a new set of crankshaft seals, have the cylinders bored and the cylinder deck checked then go from there.

I will take some real pics next time I take one out for more than two minutes.
