    towing with sports cars

My first tow rig was a full SCCA legal autocross CRX SI. I remember getting pulled over for going um lets say "over the speed limit" in rain pulling a double trailer with two Sea Doo Xp's, and the cop said "All I know is how fast the Sea Doo's were going, I never saw the car!" Still got over 28...

is one of my rods bent?

I agree with waxhead. It is most likely you got water in there and hydro locked it. When that happens, the piston stops abruptly and the crank will try to keep spinning, and twist out of index, and/or bend the rod like that. If the crank is welded, the damage can be worse. When cylinder one is...

    How to prevent ear issues?

Many many many years ago, when I was a welder, the company I worked for, took an entire afternoon and shut down production, and had a hearing specialist come in and give a speech about hearing safety. No one cared, until she grabbed one of our co-workers and performed a 30 second hearing test...

    650/X-2 Relocating 650sx Handlepole

yeah, I have done it. there is a plate underneath, and you move everything with it, however, you have to make a new bracket relocation piece to hold your hood on, b/c the handlepole bracket also holds the hood hook/catch.

Best way to build a 750 upgrade x2

Most of the issues I see with 750 X2's having no low end is the lack of air flow. The stock x2 hood restricts a lot of air. As soon as you modify the hood for more air flow, it almost doubles the low end hit, assuming you have a good prop/nozzle combo. A good 750 motor with either 650 electrics...

650/X-2 more engine troubles on the 650sx

When you pulled the quick release to drain the fuel, did you notice how it did not return all the way back to where it had been? Those worked well 25 years ago when they were new, but now over the years they are hard and cracked, and when you pulled it, introduced an air leak. Why did you put a...

    SBT piston destroyed

First of all, when your motor "pegged wide open" it ran away, b/c of a lean condition. When that happens, the motor revs out past the rev limiter, probably 9-10,000 rpm+, which is way past what the pistons were designed for. That is most likely when your piston failed. Secondly, the lean...

Just picked up a 750sx, have a bunch of questions.

Check the right side of the fuel tank along the inside of the hull. One year they put a couple of 3" square lead weights there to counter weight the pipe. That's worth a few pounds out of the nose.

Would You Buy An Aftermarket X2 Hull?

Yup! I would buy one. I figured out a long time ago how much "fun factor" is worth! when people ask me why I have such an expensive motor in a "thousand dollar ski" (my TJ built 750 stroker in my X2), I have to chuckle b/c every time I step off the ski, I find myself giggling like a kid. What's...
