650/X-2 Relocating 650sx Handlepole

Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you have relocated your handlepole bracket on a 650sx. Rather than trying to shorten the pole while the weather is still decent, I was thinking about pushing the pole bracket forward for a quick fix until winter comes and I can do all the hull mods I have planned. Anyone have some photos or insight on what is involved to do this? I would think the fiberglass where the bracket is mounted now is a lot more beefy than where the gas filler is so that being the case I may not be able to do this as quick as I thought. Also, were you able to use the stock bracket or do I need to pick up something aftermarket or from a different ski? I could easily go look at it but I'm at work and the ski is at a friends place so I figured I would get some info before I try to attack this project and ruin a good weekend of riding! Also if any of you MI guys have done this I would be interested in coming and taking a look if it's more involved. Anyway, thanks in advance for the input.

yeah, I have done it. there is a plate underneath, and you move everything with it, however, you have to make a new bracket relocation piece to hold your hood on, b/c the handlepole bracket also holds the hood hook/catch.

Thanks for the heads up! Wishing I lived in Bullhead City still only for the fact that you can ride all year with a wet suit. I'm jealous haha
