Movie About PWC Racing To Be Filmed at 2010 World Finals – Participants And Spectators To Be Included!!!

July 20, 2010

The IJSBA has just received news that amounts to the biggest thing to World Finals and the sport of PWC Racing since, perhaps, the whole thing started. Former World and National Champion (and Hall of Famer as well as Hollywood stunt man, pioneer of the sport, and all around seriously awesome person), Larry Rippenkroeger has had his dream come true with his long conceived movie about PWC Racing now picked up and starting into production.

If it isn’t enough that Hollywood is making a feature film about PWC Racing, they are going to start shooting this year at the 2010 World Finals. Spectators, shopping crowds in the vendor alley, pit activity, and racing will all be captured by the camera lens for use in the movie. Additionally, competitors and their PWC are planned to be picked to stage some starts, turns, and race scenes.

Needless to say, we are VERY excited about this development. We will be bringing you more news as we get it. This is going to be one of the most exciting World Finals ever!

Hollywood coming to the World Finals
Below is the official press release we received from Larry Rippenkroeger (it was posted already as a standalone release for the IMD website to direct to):

Larry Rippenkroeger and producing partners, Kyle Collinsworth and Greg Pellerito will be attending this year’s World Finals accompanied by a film crew shooting footage to be used in a feature film entitled “Hot Water”.

According to Rippenkroeger “I’ve always wanted to bring some of the fun and excitement I experienced on the IJSBA tour to the big screen. We have a great script, a great director and are in the casting process with some of the top names in Hollywood”.

Hot Water will be directed by David R Ellis, who helmed last summer’s hit movie “The Final Destination” which grossed over $183 million worldwide. Although principle photography for Hot Water isn’t scheduled to begin until early 2011, Rippenkroeger and his production team did not want to miss the opportunity to capture the excitement of this year’s World Finals.
Further details are being worked out and the IJSBA will have updates as soon as possible. One more reason to attend the World Finals – you may get discovered!

I  this thread!!!! Very creative is why! We need more input please!!!

The only twist I would like to see, is for the hottie to win World Finals!! :brap:

1. because I think that would be epic!!!

2. The damsel in distress bit is so very played out for me. Don't get me wrong, we need males to rescue us so many times, and I think that is very sexy when they do for sure (I like men that do that ...:purr:...because it is nice to feel protected indeed)! I would just like to see a new twist is all, so I think that would be a great ending.

that would be the concept for the sequel. hahaha

I was excited until I read that. I watched The Final Destination last week, OMG it sucked. I had to watch 1/2 of it in fast forward. I liked the first one and the second was OK, but this one was just trash. The effect (notice I could not use the word "special" there) were horrible.

PLEASE LARRY don't let htem make it a 3D movie....

I think it is great news Aaron...Mr. Ellis probably learned much during his last venture, that he can apply to this new one! Perhaps it deserves it's own thread; that way, it doesn't halt the creativity of this one, plus it will be nice to follow any updates.

This is great... maybe a new superhero - the "Jet-man" ? :) Bottom line: after so many years of jet skis - a movie must be made for the general public. In the movie: great skis, great views (chicks, locations), great tricks, HYPEEEEEE

Is that the David Ellis from Australia who now works with/for Monster energy? I follow The rippers movie stuff. I think the move "faster" is coming out, its foundation will be car racing/stunts.

I have a full script written up based around stand up jet skiing and some sit downs. The amount of type of jet skiing would depend on who the director is. If I was the director there would be alot of jet ski action. But who am I kidding I'm not even a script writer let alone a director.

My structure got messed up a little with the copy and paste you get the idea. Any one interested in the script? haha Let me know. Now that would be a whole new plot. Guy gets script picked up from a jet ski web site about the newest jet ski movie.

The whole script is sitting here on my computer and exteral hard drive just waiting. Please don't steal that idea either, haha.

Crud! If they're old enough to play a cougar, what's that make me? The grandma? Course, I am old enough, I just don't like to admit it to myself.:grumble:

There was actually supposed to be a movie made in the late 80's early 90's that was about a female racer, I think I remember that Christy Carlson was suppose to be in it or a main character.
