Has anyone installed timeserts in the FP manifold? All 3 of the threads in mine are pretty trashed and I wanted to know what kit to order. If anyone knows the part # they ordered that would be a huge help.

Pretty sure the bolt is a M10x1.25, not sure on the length, you'd have to measure one.

I have one timercert in my manifold. The local machine shop did it for $15. Iwas gonna do it myself, but figured this way it would be done perfect and if they screw it up they have to fix it. ..lol

It might be worth getting a estimate on doing all three.

My dad is a 35yr machinist and is going to do it. I dont trust myself...lol I just needed to know which length/depth to order.

i did this last summer
actually its easy to do
off hand i don't recall what size, just know it was stainless and you can feel a better bite with the bolts now
they should do that by default

all i did was get the timesert kit, drill it, and thread the insert in
just stay level

Just did the fix myself. Very easy, just drill strait. For anyone searching later on, who needs to do this...you want the M10x1.25 20mm depth kit.

Lightyears better then a helicoil. Its a full SS insert you replace your trashed threads with. When I reinstalled my headpipe you can feel how much more torque you can put on the bolts. I have done helicoils and they never felt that good when torquing the bolt in them. Timeserts feel STRONG as :):):):). Kit is pricey, but its idiot proof and the final product is 100000% stronger then stock. FP should install these new and sell the manifold for a few more dollars. Its that much better. I am going to redo my kawi manifolds with them next week.

I bought the kit off ebay, but here is the manf website.

Thing is, you don't need the kit for doing the 62T cylinder conversion. The inserts thread right into the M10x1.25 holes. The kit gives you a drill but and a tap, plus a few stainless inserts. Don't need the tap and drill bit.

Thats good to know. I needed the drill bit and tap for the manifold so kit was worth it. Great thing to keep in the toolbox.
