503 service error killing me

I'm so sick of gettin errors whenever I open threads. I'll open about 25 threads all as diff tabs in FF, and even if I open them slowly, allowing time to load, I get this error message! I've tried uninstalling fasterfox per Darin's intstructions once, but to no benefit. And I used to be able to do this, on the X, before the summer. Its super frustrating to have to reload all the tabs, and I need my X! Help! I had already refreshed the majority of the tabs in the pic.

I missed this thread yesterday, sorry.

If you read the message, it's a protective thing our host uses on their servers to clamp down on some unruly search engine spiders. When Google/Yahoo/etc crawl sites, they do it nicely most of the time, but some of them try to crawl sites all at once, and will just hammer a server.

So, Futurequest (and other hosts) has a spider rate control program that will clamp down on them, but you can trigger it yourself too if you make too many requests in succession. Then, it flags your IP address and will watch you a little more closely and trigger more easily.

I get it every once in a while, and do the same as you with multiple tabs, but I probably don't open quite as many at a time.

i do the same
but i only have about 5 open
the mutiple is gfood for slow connections
as you are reading one the others are loading
i get the error as well
i didnt know what it was for but cool i do now
it means i am still going to get it but now i know its not at my end
