Rick Roy Pole on SXR problem

Installing RRP pole on 2009 sxr. I have the Kawasaki bushings that are widder than the SJ bushings but I have 1/4 " gap between the pole and stock sxr pole bracket. I read other post and it seemed others have had to actually trim their bushings to make them fit the bracket. I have made two 1/8" nylon spacers but wonder about their durability.

Anybody had this problem? It seems like I have wrong bushings.

I would say you have the wrong bushings. Every SXR with the OEM bracket that we have installed an RRP on has been tight. Did you get the pole used? Maybe they sent you the wrong bushings.

Pole is new and had SJ bushings in box and had to get SXR bushings shipped after got pole. Seems that there are only 3 possible bushings sets for SJ, SXR and HS. Do you think the nylon spacers are a problem.

I think that you will be fine with the nylon spacers. I have used the same in the past (with an aftermarket bracket) without any issues. Their is a possibility that the billet RRP poles are a bit different then the cast ones...but I'm not sure on this!

I agree with waterfreak, the bushings will probably be fine. Just out of curiosity, what did the shop that you bought the pole say?

They had the widder bushings shipped to me and they were labled "Bu Kaw" and are widder than the SJ bushings. I think wrong bushings labled for Kawasaki. I am going to get calipers out and measure thickness which, should tell rrp what the bushings are for. I don't think the stock sxr bracket on an 09 is widder than earlier years.

he bought the pole through us. He originally had the bushings for the SJ but we sent the kawi ones afterterwards from HotProducts (it was the right part number for the kawi) .
