Yesterday at El Capitan. Temps were HOT!!!! Probably upper 90's. Big crowds. About 2:00 pm, I'm standing on the shore and..... KA-BLAMMMMMMM!!
Major explosion! Out of the corner of my eye, I see a guy cartwheeling though the air. Apparently, he was going out for a ride and hit the start button, and the Polaris exploded blowing the top deck into pieces and catapaulting him 15 feet in the air.
When I got over there, they were dragging the guy out of the water. I thought he was dead.
Women are screaming, children were crying. It was CHAOS!
As they're tending to the guy, here comes Hurricane Katrina.
Boats and watercaft are making a bee-line for the dock and everything on the beach starts blowing away. The fire engine and paramedics are trying to get down to the beach to tend to the injured guy, but it is gridlocked and they are blocked in. The scene is surreal.
3 foot swells and chop start to form. The dock is a madhouse. Some boats are sinking out on the lake.
