How does everyone mount their batteries in aftermarket hulls?

I had to tear out my battery mounts in my aftermarket hull to be able to glass in some new motor mounts.

The piece I pulled out was a fiberglass piece that had the 4 inserts molded in posts that got glued down all in one part. When I ripped up the one in my hull it broke and I would like to see the best way to mount the battery now.

I have mine in the bulkhead, it works pretty well.

I like that idea but i am not venturing down that road this far into the build. If I was just starting and most of everything was still left to do I would have def done the bulkhead.

I have stainless t-nuts bonded to the hull, and covered in multiple layers of carbon. A std. yam batery box bolts right up.

WDK sells one simular to what your describing that you ripped out. Otherwise its pretty simple to make little pods with an insert in them and glue them down in locations to put an OEM SJ box in.

Well if I knew i would get something I would order them from Jeff, I can't wait months and months to finish this.

I was hoping one of the Florida builders had something I could use.

I laid down thicked epoxy, then bonded an aluminum plate to the hull. Then drill and tapped it for (4) bolt holes. Then screwed battery box down to that. Worked great. Actually the battery box broke on a lawndart... and the mount was fine.

i potted acorn nut inserts in thickened epoxy.......battery runs between the front cover and gas on my F1, the battery is now part of the engine keeper system lol

DOH! T-nuts... why didnt I ever think of that? What did you bond them with?

Xscream has a batt box you can buy... i just ground mine real well, drilled a few holes, stuck it down with some west systems, 404 and some chop strands and have been running it like that for 1 1/2 yrs with no issues

I got a carbon plate that is located under the exhaust tube, and my 5lbs battery is attached to it
