Just curious, whats this suppose to do, force you to keep your weight forward?

you are hitting the setup wake on the wrong side if you roll clockwise you need to hit the wake on the right side of the ski and rotate with your back over the wave, not away from it. i was trying them just like you setup turn to the left and rolling clockwise . i was told to make my setup wake by turning to the right then quick pre hop from left to right the turn and pin it and tuck. since i have been making my setup wake by turning to the right and hitting the setup wake on the right side of the ski i have noticed a much quicker rotation the wave want to push you feet out from under you use the momentum the wave offers. hopefully that makes since.
think of it like a pendulum
the picture in my avatar is of me trying to roll the wrong way.

I've tried hitting my setup wake from both directions and it always felt like I was getting more pop when turning to the left. Whatever I'm doing isn't working so I'll go back to it and give it a shot.

Yes by turning the lever down it forces you to keep the pole down so reach it in turn getting you lower over the hood. It takes awhile to get used to though. I had to gradually get there over a week or so...every ride I would turn it downwards a little more until it was almost straight down.
