Clearancing for PVs and it looks like I'm breaking through. And it only just clears! Did I just cost myself a bunch of money?

I have a welding guy who can do that for me, but hell - how thin do you have to make the water jacket to clear the PVs? Scary....

Phew! OK - so I'm not an idiot. That's good to know. I have a spacer to lift it up, but I guess it still needs welding. Does anyone have any pictures of the process? That would be good to see.

Where's the spacer I made for this engine? Did you not buy the complete exhaust system for that 8mm stroker? That engine was all complete and fitted, did TEM not sell it to you?
Damn I got a brand new manifold and B headpipe all done just setting on the shelf ready to go with the spacer, gaskets and bored outlet to match that engine! (Our new low profile PV don't need any modification for the 'B pipe to fit, so not using it) Are you hurting for $ that bad to go through all this pain?

LOL! I didn't realize it would be painful  I do have the spacer, but not the exhaust system. It doesn't clear with just the spacer alone - still needed grinding a bit. Or am I missing something?

And yes, after buying the motor and dropping at least another $2k into the ski, I could do with not spending any more for a while!

By the time you add 2 gaskets you don't need that much grinding to get it to clear, weld it up and you'll be fine, did you bore out your manifold and port out the headpipe to match the spacer I.D. size?
Tem is such a quak, there was no reason for him to break it up and make it hard on you! He doesn't even have any PV engine to use it on*****!

Bugger - didn't think about the gaskets adding space. I'll get it welded up and get riding.

For the rest, the exhaust will have to stay like it is for now. I may upgrade it in the summer or it may have to wait till the end of the year. I realize I'm be holding it back a bit, but I'm moving up from a ported 701 so I think I will be more than happy with the throttled exhaust for now! It'll be good to save some extra improvements for later.

Right now the weather is hot, the credit card full, and it's time to ride! :highhorse:

That was my first thought, but how much pressure is in there? Think it'll hold?

JB kwik holds on the pump reduction nozzle and that stuff isn't as strong as the regular JB weld. I'm sure there is quite a bit more pressure in the middle of the reduction nozzle than there is flowing through the water jacket on the pipe. I also put regular JB weld on the stator section of my pump when I had to relocate one of the water fittings.

Just be very careful with a small headpipe outlet it will build a lot of piston heat and kill off the power...I hate seeing my stuff half assed! This engine can really breath as it is a copy of the engine we won the world finals with and has bigger transfers than 90% of the engines out there!
