so if the jet ski tricks are cool enough to be on the superbowl and discovery channel, why not in the x games or some kind of show that shows freestyle and freeriding competion, non jet sking friends have seen the commercials and thought it was great

its just gonna take time. obviously there is an element that is exciting to watch. and way more so than like those seadoo commercials of couches driving around piers. woohoo! or it could just mean that some dude at discovery and at kia rides and was able to get the right people hooked? either way if it continues all of our ride spots could get crowded. so knock it off!!!:laugh2:

Britney Spears was also part of the Super Bowl once. I don't think "cool" is a requirement of anyone who watches the superbowl.

This may have been a joke but there is quite a bit of truth to this. More people is good but more of the wrong people is bad! I remember 10-15 years ago when I went boating/waterskiing, 95% of people would wave to you and if you broke down you may have had 2-3 boats pass you before one stopped to help. Now maybe 5-10% wave and you better start praying if you break down.

I see my typical riding buddies on the lake most weekends and maybe once or twice a month I'll see a standup rider I've never seen before. I usually try to introduce myself and get to know them a little better. If I saw random stand up riders everyday, I wouldn't be anywhere near as sociable. We don't want to get too big...just my 2 pennies.

I feel that there is a different aspect to the sports sometimes. Stand up tricks sometimes are 10% trick and 90% rest. :):):):) I can't think of how many times i sub and ride around a bit and then just get on my knees and idle while catching my breath. With the videos we all put up we often edit the "boring" out of them.

But nonetheless I've never seen a pro ride and would love to. But I enjoy the sport 1000 times more than watching it so I'm cool if it's a small sport.

the only way to get into the x-games we would need all the top named people to step up i mean they had surfing come on boring as :):):):) and they just added snowmoblie to the winter x-games so it could happen

Its all about money. Kids are the driving force behind what they put on the tv and for some reason this sport just doesn't appeal to the kids as much as skateboarding, snowboarding, freestyle mx. I don't see how kids will ever get into this unless they're exposed to it. Most kids probably are completely unaware of the sport. We need to get air time on channels like FuelTV if we want it to catch on.
