Just wondering how much others spent at Daytona.

Here is pretty much what I spent.

117.00 Fuel in truck to get there and back, split 3 ways. 350.00 total.
100.00 Food for 2
45.00 Fuel for Super Jet
63.00 Room at Makai. One room was comped and split 126.00

325.00 Total.

Stuff I bought while at Daytona

60.00-80.00 drinks at Razzles Most of that night was fuzzy.
80.00 Jettribe Stuff
70.00 Jet Pilot Stuff
100.00 Raffle tickets
10.00 Forgot rashguard shirt, picked one up at wallyworld.

320-340.00

645-650.00 Grand Total.

Im sure Im missing something.

Luckly I did sell about 350.00 in parts at the ride.

120 what i paid for the room
140? food for 2 that includes airport food there and back
35 package store
30 in gas for ski but i still have 27 dollars of that left. i didn't ride much
30 gas for a borrowed car and left it at the air port parking was 15 for that
= about $1200


not to bad? i must have road for over 12 minutes so it was less the a $100 a minute to ride

i felt better before i added this up.

i kno i spent way more than i planned but screw it, daytona is once a year!

Well, this year I knew I had to budget quite a bit, so instead of staying at the Makai this year beachfront, I stayed maybe 1/2 mile down A1A across the street from the beach at an old, but very nice and clean little motel with good, safe parking. For three days I paid all of $96 TOTAL before tax on my motel room. I think from last year that alone saved me I wanna say $200.

I also packed all my own beverages from home, and didn't buy any while I was there. That helped, too. (the big qualifier in that statement is that I don't drink). So, no big bar tab either.

I also limited the amount of raffle tickets that I bought. However, I didn't win anything this year, either.

Add to that about $115 in fuel for the truck, $36 for the ski, $25 for launch permit, and a few dollars for food, and I got out of there for under $295.

I'm not cheap, but if it's the difference between going and not going, I can be very frugal if I need to be.


(now, the $200-$300 MSD brainbox that I blew up on Saturday, that makes this a different story)

I know I spent the $500 or so that I had in cash on clothing at the beach but all I remember is the new wet suit.
Picked up some raffle tickets and had a bunch of food.
Drank some and got some gas plus the hotel came out to around $300.
Not bad at all.
The biggest ticket item is yet to come. Yep, I want a new motor and Chucky will build it for me.

I love Daytona.

I must be a cheap ass because I spent more this year than any other and blew through about $280 including the room, food, drinks and taxis. My previous trips were probably under $100-150.

I was thinking about it today while I drove around. I can't believe I had that much fun for so little money.
