Hey guys, I know this thread is going to sound a little harsh but it's to help protect us from buying parts from the wrong people. I have very recently seen the name DirkDiggler popping up here and there on our site but I feel that everyone here needs to know some truth about this guy before making any final purchasing decisions.
Last year I purchased something from Dirk and I have to admit I was not overly impressed with the deal. Again, not to sound like I'm slamming the guy but I have recently found a thread on our neighboring site at pwct which I think we all need to be made aware of. With the deal he and I had, we agreed on a set price, he later jacked it up after receiving a part for it he had been waiting on for some time but never thought to mention it was not a new part, just someone else's used parts. On top of this before making me cover the cost of the part he also tacked on an additional 5 bucks to the original part just out of nowhere. When I received the assembled part I found it had a broken piece on it as well. In his defense he did accept my request for a partial refund but it took a couple of weeks to hear back from him about it.
After finding this thread I think we should all be aware of it so this doesn't happen to anyone else. I have this part on my ski and did some corrections to it, now it's working well which is all I asked for but we should know that there are deals out there that sometimes are better left alone. As mentioned in the pwct thread, our sport is small enough, we can't allow new comers to be driven away by inaccurate deals and last minute changes that were not originally agreed upon. If we can't be honest about what we put up for sale, then we shouldn't be selling it. Thanks for taking the time guys my only goal here is not to do any bashing, but to help protect anyone considering buying from anyone questionable, and holding any substantial turbulent feedback. Initially I tried to be ok with the deal I went ahead with and looked for the positive side of things, but after reading all of this posting and seeing that there have been games played in the past in different locations it was enough to make me come forward.
