Be careful of certain sellers

Hey guys, I know this thread is going to sound a little harsh but it's to help protect us from buying parts from the wrong people. I have very recently seen the name DirkDiggler popping up here and there on our site but I feel that everyone here needs to know some truth about this guy before making any final purchasing decisions.

Last year I purchased something from Dirk and I have to admit I was not overly impressed with the deal. Again, not to sound like I'm slamming the guy but I have recently found a thread on our neighboring site at pwct which I think we all need to be made aware of. With the deal he and I had, we agreed on a set price, he later jacked it up after receiving a part for it he had been waiting on for some time but never thought to mention it was not a new part, just someone else's used parts. On top of this before making me cover the cost of the part he also tacked on an additional 5 bucks to the original part just out of nowhere. When I received the assembled part I found it had a broken piece on it as well. In his defense he did accept my request for a partial refund but it took a couple of weeks to hear back from him about it.

After finding this thread I think we should all be aware of it so this doesn't happen to anyone else. I have this part on my ski and did some corrections to it, now it's working well which is all I asked for but we should know that there are deals out there that sometimes are better left alone. As mentioned in the pwct thread, our sport is small enough, we can't allow new comers to be driven away by inaccurate deals and last minute changes that were not originally agreed upon. If we can't be honest about what we put up for sale, then we shouldn't be selling it. Thanks for taking the time guys my only goal here is not to do any bashing, but to help protect anyone considering buying from anyone questionable, and holding any substantial turbulent feedback. Initially I tried to be ok with the deal I went ahead with and looked for the positive side of things, but after reading all of this posting and seeing that there have been games played in the past in different locations it was enough to make me come forward.

*Edit*

After finding out that it is necessary to make multiple postings on CL with different e-mails I am making an apologetic withdraw on this message. Dirk, I apologize for this identity issue. I had no idea about how strict CL was but understand their regulations. I was surprised to see the e-bay thing though so my report unfortunately stands.

Trust me dude, I hesitated a lot on posting this but after reading what I have people should be told about whom they need to be careful of. This thread isn't just about Dirk, if there are any sellers that are carrying a well known bad reputation they should be posted.

Heh, I want to give him both sides of the coin though, the part I bought was jacked up in price, it came with a broken piece on it and a used piece but he refunded some coin and it works...plus it arrived quickly. I just don't think it's fair to people that they get price jacked and last minute deal changes.

READ THE THREAD ......... The only effective way to post in multiple cities on craigslist is too have Multiple Email address that are not associated with each other in anyway.

If i were trying to hide my identity or deceive anyone I would have changed my Forum name a long time ago and not use my 2 primary email address .............. im not hiding

The 2 email address I primarily use are:

Boomdogger2003@yahoo
and
Superjetman1@yahoo.com

I HAVE NEVER STOLEN MONEY OR ANYTHING FROM ANYONE......EVER........AND STAND BEHIND EVERYTHING I SELL 110% WITH FULL MONEY BACK. I DONT WANT ANYONE TO BE DISAPPOINTED WITH ANYTHING THEY GET FROM ME........ its hobby and sometimes I make money, sometimes I break even and many times I lose money!

Everyone is pretty aware of my advertising strategies at this point!

Thanks Big Kahuna, I didn't know this section existed  As mentioned, it's not to slam people, just to inform people so they know what they're getting into if they decide to go ahead with the deal.

There is a very good reason for this: Craigslist doesn't want you to post the same stuff on multiple locations, as they encourage LOCAL sales and don't want to be a free eBay.
Your using of multiple email addresses serves only to circumvent the rules that your free advertising board has put in place.

Think about that for a minute.

That sounds fair Matt...I'm still unsure of the purpose behind price jacking though. :dunno:

Read the thread ....... MULTIPLE EMAIL ADDRESSES ARE REQUIRED TO EFFECTIVLY POST IN MULTIPLE CITIES ON CRAIGSLIST.COM ............ Yes I know it is annoying to some but its a Free advertising tool and who doesn't like free advertising?

If I was trying to hide or deceive people wouldn't I have changed my Forum name???? or stopped using my 2 primary email addresses??

Primary email address are:
Boomdogger2003@yahoo
and
Superjetman1@yahoo.com

and have been for a looong time .......... if I was trying to deceive everyone would I still be using those?? ........ probably not

I STAND BEHIND EVERYTHING I SELL 110% ...... I WANT PEOPLE TO BE HAPPY WITH THE PARTS THEY GET FROM ME ....... Its just a hobby and sometimes I make money, sometimes I break even and many times I lose money .......... Its like gambling for me without having to go to the casino and risk blowing my entire bank account in one night!

I HAVE NEVER AND WILL NEVER STEAL ANYONE'S MONEY AND STAND BEHIND THE STUFF I SELL.

EVERYONE IS AWARE OF MY ADVERTISING METHODS ............ I like FREE advertising, what can I say??

He posts in every city's craigslist as well. I bought a part from him and it was junk. It took quite a few emails back and forth to get my money back.

A few emails back and fourth is how people come to a resolution when someone isnt happy....... dont try and make it sound like I was being difficult or something!!

I sold you and aftermarket RAD flywheel that I pulled out of a running Ski ......... it was the first aftermarket flywheel I have ever owned or seen ..........seeing how the ski ran perfect with it and my limited knowledge of that specific part I sold it has a working RAD Flywheel for a great price.

Taking your opinion of its actual condition as an accurate estimate, If I remember correctly, I gave you a full refund and let you keep it.

I am willing to accept that as reasonable justification for multiple e-mails as I was not aware of how CL works. But only if you can explain with genuine honesty why you sneak the price up on listed items before you make the sale. Something I bought from you, you had listed at 85 bucks, then you claimed that the new part you ordered finally arrived so you had to up it by 20 (which is 105)...which I can appreciate, and the shipping was to be 15 and shipped by USPS (120 total). You sent me a bill of 125, somehow something went up by 5 bucks and I was not told about it.

I wanted to be good about it and let it go, but the part arrived with one original part being broken and the other original part was replaced with someone else's used parts. I was not informed that the replacement parts were going to be used replacements and that they would not properly match what I was purchasing. As mentioned you did come through with a partial refund but only after a prolonged period of time. Additionally it's very hard to believe that a person goes into business expecting to lose money on both good and bad deals unless you're so ridiculously loaded that money is no concern, that is only how I see it though.

To each is their own understanding of that scenario but IMHO, the seller should be fully up front of any deal changes before allowing the purchaser to follow through so that they may make an educated decision. I am fully willing to make a retraction on the alternative identities, but I stand behind feeling like I was taken on a deal dude. I am sorry to post a downer thread but that kind of conduct does need to be brought to the surface so people know what to expect if they go ahead with it anyway. As for my lack of information regarding how CL works, I send out my apologies, I was not aware of this and thanks Matt_E for bringing that up.

Wasn't a flywheel I bought. I have no idea what that flywheel would be for. The part isn't important, what is important is how the deal was altered without being fully honest and up front about it. But I am done, the truth has been made known and it's not about issues needing to be settled with pm's, it's about honesty during the sale to prevent issues from arising. But as mentioned, I'm done.

The post regarding the RAD flywheel was for Demolition_X

I don't remember the exact specifics becasue its been a while and Yahoo mails search function doesn't work for me to go back and look at out entire conversation.

I said I had a another new part on the way, but it was just miss-communication between us. I meant "another new on the way" as in different/new working part for the carb you bought that needed the part ............. Not Brand New. ..... suppose I sould have said "different one on the way". Whenever I have anything that is actually "new", I say Brand New....... my bad.

The part was a 100% fitment match for the carb but the color was different.

The only logic behind the additional $5 would be for the PayPal fee's or maybe I rechecked on international shipping rate and it was a little more than I had anticipated or a combination of the 2. Most likely the Paypal Fees because I generally make buyers pay those unless they send the $$$ as a "Gift". I also generally round up with international shipments because i have been burnt pretty bad in the past on under-quoting the shipping rate.

You also mentioned that you see my "name popping up here and there"?? I have been here for almost 2 years now and my name is everywhere.

I am not "loaded" but have a real good job/career and have expendable income to play with. I love jetsking and have talked many many friends into buying jetski's over the last couple years. sorta started as me gathering performance and OEM parts to fix there ski's and mine becasue almost none of them know how to fix anything themselves. I now have a stock pile of jetski stuff and can test different things back to back to see the pros/cons...... of-course I hope to make a little money on the stuff but it doesn't always work out that way unfortunately.

I remember resolving the issue with you and everything being good but I guess I was wrong, wish you would have spoken up and expressed your concerns??

I just wish you would have read the entire thread about the multiple email address before posting this ............... Now many people will read this and automatically assume I am a thief and steal peoples money using different "aliases" even though it doesn't specifically say that.
