300/440/550 Crankshaft Seal Replacement

I posted this over on PWCT, but it's not getting very many bites, so I tossed it over here too.

I'm trying to replace the crankshaft seals in my 650, but I searched and it seems that I need fly wheel puller and a coupler removal tool. I talked with Madscientist and he said I could do a few things to get the coupler off with out using a coupler tool and how to keep the crankshaft from spinning by using some rope or heavy gauge stereo wire and some candle wax.

Where can I rent a flywheel removal tool or can I get around using one?

There are 3 crankshaft seals, but I'm only seeing the front and rear being sold? Who has the third one included with the kit? Do I need the third one?
SBT lists an "end seal kit" while WCS store lists 2 seals and lastly Parkeryamaha list only the magneto and PTO seals.

If yall have any other tips or tricks to make this go smoothly please let me know! Any help is appreciated.

The seals are: 92049 (2) and 92049A

yes 3 seals 1 seal behind flywheel they call it mag and a pto inner and outer seal $8.43 all 3 seals non-teflon
you could probably get a puller kit from harbor freight, autozone or kragen that would work slotted so very adjustable. When you get flywheel off and cases split you can put the last web of the crank in a vise and use a chain wrench to remove coupler. It will leave small marks on aluminum coupler.

I have one That I use to work on cars to hold the crank pulley when needed.
This will not twist crank if done correctly. Good luck!

get all of what we talked about and these seals from john at jetskihaven and tell him you are buying under my direction not to mention that he should have all of it in stock.

you will receive it in 2-3 days and be able to have it before x-mas holidays are over. i talked to jeff and he can't find a 15.5 impeller as of now. i may still have 1 for you if interested in it. hit me up tomorrow and we will work it out.

here is a universal puller kit. Careful with bolt length going into flywheel. too long threaded into flywheel may cause stator damage. You may have to buy the right metric size bolt as this kit is most likely all american sae.

Thanks, I'm about to go and pick one up!

No worries on the impeller, like I said if yall happen to find one thats cool, but if not I'll try to pick up another used one on one of the forums.

I'm gonna get the seals, oil and crank blockoff and some gaskets from John. I took the reeds out last night to make sure they weren't damaged and who ever put the reeds and intake manifold on didnt want that sucker to leak at all because they used gasket sealer on the gaskets...talk about a PIA to clean.........

I'll give you a shout this afternoon Justin.
