yamaha Superjet 80 miles. A good idea?

Slightly off topic, but where did you guys take the skis out in the Highlands? I didnt think Clam Hut had a ramp? (or anywhere in the highlands for that matter) I live less then 4miles south from there...lol Post up if/when you guys are going to do it again in 2010.
Yes you are right, there a no ramps around the highlands area. We had to carry the (2) superjets up to the parking lot, and take the waverunner to the ramp next to Sally Ts in Monmouth beach. ( don't think it was legal) Stay in touch, we ski all the time out of Shark River inlet, and hit a bunch of beaches to the north. We a thinking about mid june for the next big journey, but will have to figure out fueling, since the beaches are open at that time.

keep me in the loop too...i'd love to do a long distance ride like that. one think i feel like i have to try (although I've heard quite a few times its not a good idea) is a hudson river/east river trip around nyc...like what the Brooklyn Jetty Jumpers do but on standups.

I will keep in touch, we are thinking about extending the ride to include rockaway and back to the highlands. I have to hear more about the brooklyn jetty jumpers, that sounds like a cool trip. I'll do it! Thanks, Mike

It's about a 7 mile straight shot from Highlands (Sandy Hook) to Rockaway (where The Jetty Jumpers are).

Its about 12miles from highlands to breezy point. Coney island is about 12.5. I've done it before on a day the bay was super clam. Although I'd rather stay on the party island @ sandy hook and watch the sights there...lol

You must be right about the distance... I can't remember exactly because the last time I've done it (on a couch) was in August of 2005, the conditions were pretty rough and I ended up with a torn meniscus, a knee surgery and two months of disability leave... just bad luck, there is nothing to this ride.
