Charlie, the bourbon chicken has some minor issues to be worked out.
I prefer Quizno's anyways, but I can't bitch about a free lunch.

Idok, I agree....33cc's and 155 psi on any FS port job is low. I get about 180psi on my FS port with 33cc domes.

nope not shure at all, only going by what the seller told me...

Ok well eatehr way, my cheapest opting right not to get on the lake.
new crank, bore up one size 82.5mm, new pistons/rings, new gaskets.
around $1000, and would like to get pauls f/s port at the least, another $350 but not shure what he can do since its allready ported? i'm only looking for the hit, and it never has since i'v owned it.. about 3months

Your spelling is sickening Grif...

Anyways....you can get a good used crank for 150. Buy a new one for 400.
Pistons, 200 tops.
Gaskets....100 bucks (that's high!)
Machine work....100 bucks (also high).

I wouldn't put money into changing porting that's already there....not saying it wouldn't get more power, just that a port job on a stocker would be similar money and better gains.

So, cheapest to get you on the water is likely less than 800.
If I was doing it, I would just go for a used crank, get a deal on pistons and gaskets, and spend about 400 bucks total.

has it ever been 'tuned' by anyone that knows what theyre doing since you bought it? do you know what the elevation difference is between you and the seller? that, alone, could make a big difference in performance if the elevations are different.

i would get the cylinders bored to a new matching set of pistons and run it *with everything tuned properly* and go from there. paul should be able to tell you what kind of porting it has and what you can expect from it. if it still doesnt hit, you can still get your money out of it by selling it.

The port job is Riva's basic Pump Gas Rec Porting.......... Nothing wrong with it.........what kind of Compression guage did you use...... if it was a gauge you bought at Sears or an autoparts store then dont trust those numbers...........

Sounds to me like the exhaust port has been raised, and would explain the lack of bottom hit.

$350 for crank....$140 or so for pistons......$80 for boring......$70 for all gaskets and seals at a max.....

Where are you coming up with $1000? unless your not assembling it yourself.

i'm not worried about assembling it, i'm worried about to torking specs on each bolt...

damn you guys, i wont more power; power power power
you guys know what your doing more than myself, so looks as if i'm going the cheapo' rebuild route...

How do i know if i need my cylinders one size up? is there anyway i can just replace the crank, gaskets, and piston rings?

If you're worried about torquing bolts, please do yourself a favor and pay/bribe someone who knows what they're doing to assemble that motor.
You already have ALL the torquing specs, according to yourself.

Take the cylinder to a machine shop and have them measure it and inspect the damage. They'll tell you if you can get away with a hone and new rings or whether you need a bore and if so, what size.

A lean hesitation is a slight stumble upon pulling the throttle and then immediately picking up.
A rich bog is a throaty bog that slowly clears out.
The difference is subtle.

Grif....I can send you the user's manual for the SJ telling every Tq spec for that motor and even how its assembled.

Get with someone on lanier who has built motors before and pay for food and drinks and let them walk you threw it one saturday or sunday. Thats how I learned. It only takes 1 or 2 times before you really start getting the hang of it

He supposedly has the manual on CD....apparently though, he has never looked at it or he would know what specs are:sneaky:
