What size hoses do i need?

i have a 96 superjet and i need to order my hoses asap. Which hoses do you recommend. Where can I buy them. Also, what sizes and lengths should i order?

I have a single carb 701. Im running two pissers as close to the motor as i can make them. I also have a B pipe.

Thanks

you can also go to any hardware store and just get their braided tubing with 3/8" ID and i'm sure it'll work just as well if you run out of tubing. try not to use this in the pump area though, just inside the engine comparment. my .02

the heat rating is not that good on that tube it will last a year the most then get hard as a rock.

Works great for me, I've never used any of it more than a season anyway,
I've been using this super flexible air compressor line, works great. My buddy just bought a 50' line, and we've been pulling from it all year. Probably not the cheapest option, but great stuff.

Indeed. Lowes have some nice tubing for pressure washers - very robust, fits well, lasts for ever, and is bright yellow which adds some bling to the engine compartment. I've been running that for years.

yeah i had that stuff blow off on the pump side 3 miles from the ramp. sucks when you overheat your pipe with parallel dual cooling.

im using yamaha hose now everywhere but the two pissers off the head. sucked to get stuck because i used sub-par compressor line.

Wow, thanks for the tip. The hose I'm using wasn't cheap at all, I can't imagine anything going wrong with it, but anything can happen. I've been using the same few pieces all year, on two skis now. Planning on changing everything out before Daytona though anyway.

any suggestions for where I can get "good" 1/2" line for cooling? i only need about two feet...from the pump to the hull and from the hull to the T reduction fitting, which will then run 3/8" tubing to each part of the mani.

good to pack sand in with a set up like that. 1/2 in lets 1/2 rocks in and they get stuck in you 3/8 hoses. good luck and i am not towing you in if you cook it.

uggh...never thought of it like that. isn't jerry running 1/2"?

anybody else have any input on this? pump is already tapped for 1/2" and at group k for blueprinting...i guess worst case scenario i can fill it with JB Weld and retap it for 3/8" cooling but I'd rather not.

You can JB Weld a 1/2" to 3/8" adaptor in there - that way you actually end up with a 3/8" threaded insert in the pump and you can change the fitting if you ever need to. That's the way I did mine.

then i'm back to square one with having a 1/2" hole that could let rocks in that at some point gets restricted to 3/8" and could blow up my motor as what ryan is saying.

i will ask the guy building my motor what he suggests I do. thanks

No, I mean a threaded insert right at the pump. That's a male thread at 1/2" with a female 3/8" thread inside. Fits straight in that 1/2" hole you have tapped and there is never an opening bigger than 3/8".

I've been running this same line for 3 seasons and it is still as flexible as it ever was. Looks good still too. I was worried about the heat rating too when I first bought it, but it has not been an issue.

you need all 1/2 or a 3/8 in. as long as the fitting going out are the same or bigger size you wont get rocks stuck in them. they make a 1/2 pipe thread 3/8 hose fitting.
