ada girdle head question

is there more than one type of ada dome?the reason i ask is because i have a brand new ada o-ring kit for this head and the fire rings dont fit the domes worth a damn:dunno: what gives?

It might just be an optical illusion, but it appears that the groove is wider on the left dome. ADA marks the underside of their domes with the part number. Take a look to see if these are a matched pair.

Back to your original question, they used to have part numbers starting with YA2xxx and currently they use YA7xxx series. Perhaps there are differences n the O-rings.

I have noticed that same thing on my domes....??????? one set of domes the orings fit snug and one set the orings are kinda sloppy and loose fitting...

if you look at the dome on the left you can see that the o-ring recess is way bigger than the o-ring.they both fit this way


nick,have you ran yours this way?


these domes may be real old,i got them from tricky used about a year ago,theres no telling how old they are

strangely enough... it made no difference. I think the one on the right may have been lapped... looks as if it is not as deep as the other dome. Check the depth w/ dial calipers

Butti, are the two o-rings the same size? The one on the left looks thinner (but maybe it's just the lighting).
