Lol.......I'll take that as a NO.

Notta prob. I found a local guy the does carbon fiber and lightweight composites. He worked for the air force building the stealth bombers. He has a huge oven and all the vacs. He said he will make a mold and do some hulls since he got laid off. Waiting to hear numbers, but i know he said the mold will be costly to build so i will want to utilize it and make more then one. So i may have a hull soon, or alot of them. LOL

Ya, the stock hood is pretty light and flimsy and that glue doesn't hold :):):):)..I have to take it easy on that stock hood, or it'll be toast fast.

I'm glad someone is thinking about hoods and hulls for the FX-1 because I really like mine(I mean my kids..lol)...

Blowsion did a really great job with that carbon hood. Very strong and has been holding up very well for me!
I wanted one for the longest time.....then, when I finally got one, I was disappointed with the weight. I thought it'd be a ton lighter.
So, rather than go through all the trouble of prepping and gel coating it to match the build, I decided to not do it, and sold it along with another hull to Idok

I'm highly considering having my neighbor, a composits expert who did my last FX-1 hull, to try a carbon hood for me.
But now I think I'll wait a while and see what hardcore comes up with.

These ones are thick and can take anything, definitely a great thing to have in big surf!

BTW, I think LBE has one for sale....however, he was asking solid money for it.
Might wanna PM him and see what his price is now. It's been a while, might be cheaper now. Worth a PM.

I got it.

Maybe a few weeks back or so, I saw that Blowsion had them on their website, NEW, for I wanna say under $600-ish, if I remember right.

But is that different then the ones from a couple years ago, like I sold Idok and that you bought from LBE?

i wouldnt bother with a carbon topdeck for the fx.....the OE top deck is thin and light enough..

the bottom is where the weight is, and if you are gong to go thru the troule of making molds....make it for a 144 pump with a SJ driveshaft

the carbon blowison hood I got from seats is nice, but not even in the same league as what superfreak or trinity does...not even close by a longshot
