Here's an old pic that I pulled out of the archives. It was a trick that I used to end my routines with.

IJSBA Budweiser National Tour, circa 1994.

I have a friend I played ultimate frisbee with in college. This guy has a huge arm and can fire a smooth, gently arcing floater, with pin point accuracy, a good 60 -75 yards. He would loft it at just the right moment(about 5 seconds left in my routine), and I would pin it and hunt it down. Sometimes I would time it just right and it would float into my hand. Other times, I would have to stay WFO, and snatch it just inches from the water.

Cool sensation when it's timed just right!

So, he's married? :slap:

Sounds like a cool trick. Entertaining, at least.

I had been doing that trick to end my routines for most of 93 - 95. We had it down pretty consistently. It still wasn't enough to beat my local nemesis - Bobby Biggs, or any of the other top amateurs at the time (Malone, Mullenax, Chris Camps, Rikiki, etc.)

I'll never forget my 1995 World Finals routine. I had a good run going and at the 15 second horn, my wingman lofted a high, long one. I pinned it and screamed across the water to run it down. I timed it wrong and it bounced out of my hand. I couldn't believe it! I could hear the crowd let out a huge "AWWWWWWWWWW!!!!"

I got 5th that day.
