Starting to wonder if I really got hooked up here. Probably not Riva's fault, but we will see how they handle this.
I took my motor apart the other night and found that the skirts on these R&D Big Bore pistons made to run in the R&D sleaves (wich I have) were hitting not only the cases, but the crank webbing as well I.E. skirts too long.
I am running stock cases and stock crank.
The last time I took this motor apart (different cases, different crank, still stock though) it was due to cracked pistons and ring pin bearings coming apart. At that time I noticed where the pistons were hitting cases, but I figured it was just part of the carnage? Here is a pic. of the other pistons & where they were hitting the cases. I now think this could have been the reason for the failure before.
Has anyone seen this happen before?
