i just did mine this week...from my research everybody did 3" radius from stock length (which i believe is 330 mm).

I used a stock plate, and measured the center of the plate...cut a 3" string attached it to a marker and made the circle....drilled some holes in it the with a jigsaw cut to each hole...sanded down.

so after my novel...i choose choice A lol. sofar i love mine...nose real high out of the water...ski pops right up when you're trying to bunnyhop. however...it will slide out on you alot (as i found out today when i tried taking a turn in the marsh and landed 10 feet up onto it)

Hmm, my ski is already really easy to slide but i want to try a d cut. Do you think i could d cut it and have some small fins welded on to make the nose ride higher without making really loose?

i used a quadrafin that i got off of ebay for 10 bucks. i didn't cut it flush with the hull so it has two points that stick out. it still sticks in turns but slides when i want it to and rides nose high. i like it alot and don't think i will ever go back to the jet dynamics plate

Any pics of it? I might see if i can fab up some SS fins and have someone weld them on for me. Is a stock fx1 rideplate stainless steel or what?

I went with the Batwing cut. Mini D-cuts where the plate tapers down, then a bigger Cut in the center. Leaves to trailing edges to for the rear to bite into during turns, but also eliminates more surface area. The two tips of the "batwing" are slightly shorter than the rear of the ski.

Are you still using and liking this? I have the exact plate in original form and am strongly considering cutting it. I like the way it rides now but am always ready for DIY improvements.
