300/440/550 550 problems

so i have a 550 and it ran fine at the lake for about a half hour then just bogged.got it home and ran water threw it and stuck wide open.i got it to shut off and have not messed with it since.the carb looks fine and it is getting fuel.no exhaust leeks.all stock

holy crap that's a loaded post.
maybe leaky crank seals letting air in even though the carb is closed.....
 
im pretty sure its a 44?its stock. is there maybe a carb adjustment that could help out cuz i no its probly not tuned..do u no the correct settings..like how many turns on which one?

put these settings to it and see how it does.......


15/16 of a turn on the top screw

1 and 1/8 on the middle,

1 and 5/16 on the bottom (pilot)

i put them to the settings suggested and still it didnt run correctly..the only other thing is that seal?



those are only initial settings to start dialing with. you need to tie it off to a dock from the back of the tray in waist-high water with about 15 ft. of rope, pin the throttle and dial it in to see if that will fix it. if you can't get it to dial in that way, then look at something else being the problem. you need to put some weight in the tray when you're doing it to keep the pump submerged good.
